This Spiddal beach known as Trá na mBan is sheltered behind a pier and is reached by means of a narrow road, just west of Spiddal village. The rocks behind the pier, and the pier itself offer ideal spots for some shore angling when the mackerel shoals are in. It’s an easily accessible rural beach which, located close to Shannagarraun wood which is a Special Area of Conservation. The Oaks and Hazel and Holly and Birch have provide cover for a ground rich in ferns, mosses and lichens.
