A very well finished 4 bedroom holiday home located on the shores of Lough Boffin and just a short drive from the village of Oughterard, Connemara. Recently renovated and extended, the property is beautifully decorated and in excellent condition throughout. Considered as the Gateway to Connemara, Oughterard is also considered to be the fishing capital of Ireland. Lough Corrib has an international reputation for its fine brown trout. Trout fishing usually commences in mid-May to June, during the Mayfly season. The village provides lots of places to eat and drink and has an abundance of shops which will supply you with everything you need for your self-catering holiday. There are many awe inspiring views of interest in the immediate area including the Quiet Man Bridge which was built as a set for the iconic film, The Quiet Man. This is an ideal location for exploring all that the Connemara region has to offer. Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Glengowla Mines, Brigit’s Garden and Lough Corrib are all just a short distance away and waiting to be explored. Local activities include fishing, hill walking, pony trekking, golf, mountain bike trail, boating and much more.
4 Bedrooms – Sleeps 8-10. Direct access to lake. The large spacious entrance hall leads to a large family bedroom, the large living room, and the kitchen and utility room. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for your self-catering stay with new and modern equipment including dishwasher, American style fridge freezer, microwave and all other necessary equipment. The utility room houses the washer and dryer. The spacious living room boasts an open fire, a 52″ multi-channel television and ample comfortable electronic reclining seating. The house has four bedrooms three of which have en-suite bathrooms. The large family bedroom with a double bed and two single beds is located downstairs and adjoins a modern en-suite with shower. The remaining three bedrooms are upstairs. Two of the bedrooms are spacious and boast king-size beds. Both of these rooms have en-suite bathrooms, one with a shower, and the other has a Jacuzzi bath. Also upstairs is a twin bedroom with two single beds. To the rear of the property is a paved patio area, looking out onto the lake, with BBQ and outdoor seating for your use. Please be aware that there is direct access to the lake shore from the property. Highchair and cot by request. Linens and towels supplied. No Pets. No smoking in the house. An electricity and heating supplement of €50 per week or €10 per day is payable from October – May.
