The Connemara Smokehouse Économusée & Visitor Centre specialises in producing Irish wild smoked salmon, Irish organic smoked salmon and Irish line caught smoked tuna. As Connemara’s longest established Smokehouse, this is a fascinating location to visit, take a tour and purchase a great array of traditionally hand-prepared seafood products.

A Tour of the Connemara Smokehouse takes approx. 45 minutes. They operate Smokehouse Tours seasonally during the summer months June, July and August  on Wednesday’s @ 3pm (one day a week only!)  On the Smokehouse Tour you will watch Graham or Nicolas hand fillet and traditionally prepare the salmon, explain the salting and smoking techniques, then show the hand slicing and packing of the finished product.

You will enjoy a tasting of their fantastic smoked salmon.  You can also buy some to take home or to eat while you are here on holiday or to send to friends and family as a gift. It is fun, educational, and delicious.

Booking is advisable.Private Group Tours & School Groups are welcome all year round by appointment.
